Even if you have zero plans – I mean, Rodrigo’s in Brazil so mine will likely include red wine, chocolate pudding, the New York Times crossword, Murder, She Wrote, and snuggles with Sici and Meowsy Pawlosi – get yourself into something saucy and fuzzy.
Velvet is to fashion as chocolate cake is to gastronomy: an absolutely necessary frivolity. Just the feel of it is lush and indulgent, and since winter is starting to slip away, now’s the time to wear these rich fabrics before you risk giving yourself the sweats come March.
