Brand Accountability Check-In: IGTV

smash the patrarchy: brand accountability for diversity and inclusion in fashion

Happy Fourth of July weekend, everyone! Before we get to celebrating (SAFELY – maybe a Zoom bbq?), honor our Founding Fathers by smashing the patriarchy, shall we?

A few weeks ago, I posted on how to hold brands accountable for diversity and inclusion and about Revolve’s diversity problem. In those posts, I included templates to send to brands via DM, email, snail mail, customer support – your choosing. Today, I want to check in with you and see where you are and remind you to keep the pressure ON these brands!

Here’s the general brand accountability template and the Revolve accountability template. For Revolve, send it to ceo@revolve.com.

I highly suggest you check out Pull Up or Shut Up on Instagram to see if your favorite brands have provided diversity information.

Also please head over to fifteenpercentpledge.org and sign their petition! AND head to their Instagram Stories to send an email directly to Target’s CEOs demanding they sign the pledge! It takes less than thirty SECONDS to do, and every email counts!

Fashion should be humanitarian at heart – let’s keep working to make it so.

Happy Fourth,

love,

Stig
