Folks, the 2020 election is TOMORROW and in lieu of an outfit post I come bearing encouragement – if you are able to vote, do it!
As we speak, I’m working the polls in Oakland, California. Here, we’ve opened mail-in voting early and have had physical polls open since Saturday! I haven’t had a chance to do any outfit posts, since I’ve been working through the weekend (but stay tuned!).
Now, if you think you may not be eligible to vote, no sweat – go to your polling place tomorrow and fill out a provisional ballot! It’ll be sent to the courthouse and they’ll figure it out from there. Just don’t forget to keep your ballot stub, which has numbers you can call to track your ballot.
Voting is a RIGHT and one that not all of us have, so use your privilege!
Some 2020 election resources I found helpful when voting on Bay Area issues:
San Francisco Chronicle Voting Guide: well-researched, politically “middle of the road” information that isn’t overwhelming – but still manages to be informative.
Oakland Rising Action: progressive stances with a bend towards racial, environmental, and economic justice
If all else fails, google a voting guide from a reputable news source or nonprofit in your area! Don’t vote on name recognition or from information in TV ads – do your homework. Even a cursory glance at a trustworthy voting guide can be a HUGE help in voting responsibly, even at the last minute.
One final note – yes, this is a fashion blog and yes, FASHION IS POLITICAL! Curious? Read more here!
Happy voting,
love
Stig
