Yesterday was not a lazy Sunday for me – lots of errands, work obligations, and running around, it just didn’t have the rhythm of a Sunday. But my body was feeling that lazy weekend vibe and just wanted to be in something stretchy. An easy, easy, easy outfit.

Ribbed bodysuit: check.
Sweatpants: check.
Suede (esque) coat: check.

All cozy, all pizza-friendly (I work with a youth group on Sundays, so pizza is a ritual). And all in the same color palette. I’ve said this before on the blog, and I’m here to say it again because it bears repeating – monochrome dressing is simply the best.
In Portuguese, if you’re wearing all the same color, they call it “caí na tinta.” That literally means, “I fell in dye.” What an excellent visual, right?

It’s become a bit of an easy outfit mantra for me. Need a quick outfit? Whoops, I fell in the dye. Don’t know what to wear? Must have fallen in dye. Want to wear sweatpants and still look classy? Fall in that dye and take your heels with you. Are you in a Crazy Rich Asians scenario and need to look classy for your mega-loaded potential in-laws on a budget? You take your cute self and dive into that dye, sweetie.

Your pieces don’t even have to be exactly the same color. If they don’t match perfectly, just put your cute shoulders back, tilt that chin up, and strut your way straight to the bagel bites section of the grocery store. It helps to wear some heels. Pretend that those motion-sensing lights in the frozen foods section are zapping on because of your divine presence. And eat those bagel bites knowing that you’re that dye-dipped queen and everyone else knows it, too. You’ve done them a favor.

[Or maybe you’re not going to the grocery store, but to a party – still strut your stuff, chica/chico/chicx! The bagel bites bit is really just a window into my depraved Monday night brain.]
So what do you think? Do-able?
love,
Stig.
