From my last post, you may know that I recently went to Coach’s Fall trunk show at their store in downtown San Francisco. I mean, who doesn’t love a good Coach purse? Haha.
One of my friends, Akshathaa Venkat, put together the event and did a stellar job – I mean, there were new and old friends, a DJ playing Genuwine and Aaliyah mixes and at the door they handed me this:
Champagne and birthday cake-flavored macarons with DINOSAURS on them. My dream event.

The Trunk Show
So what exactly is a trunk show? It’s usually an event at the beginning of a season where you can preview the new collection before the general public. The idea is to give a little thank-you to brand loyalists, allow them early access, sometimes at a discount, and keep them loyal (i.e., keep that cash-money rolling in, if you know what I mean. Can you tell this isn’t sponsored? Haha).

The Coach store downtown carries some apparel, but mostly bags and shoes. Most people know the brand for their bags, but I do suggest checking out their clothing as well – it’s the Coach 1941 line designed by Stuart Vevers. Their clothes have a retro/romantic/NYC vibe that is super wearable, either to the office or out and about.
That said, they had a magnificent bag display for their Fall collection:

Some of their shapes are leaning more geometric and “clean,” which I think is a good direction for the brand for this season. They’ll always have their classic satchels and prints, and it’s nice to add in some fresh shapes every once in awhile, don’t you think?
Some of My Faves:
Do you have a favorite? What’s your go-to bag?
love,
Stig
