“Well this won’t age well,” she said to herself as she clicked “post” on her neon fanny pack outfit, not bothering to try to make herself feel less dorky by calling it a “belt bag.”

Saturday I had big plans to drive myself to San Rafael and shop my friend Tracy’s consignment showroom. I’m training myself to buy more consigned clothes, so when a friend calls you and says that a woman who wears your exact size just dropped off a load of designer clothes, you go (she may have mentioned “McQueen” and I nearly fainted) . So I strapped on my neon fanny pack (the most practical option for maintaining the use of both arms in a shopping scenario), stepped onto my heels, started on my way, and then ….
Migraine.
Sh*t.

I texted a very understanding Tracy and coaxed myself into stopping at Target to pick up food, since the pantry was empty and migraine or not, I had to eat.

So yes, ladies and gentlemen, this was the outfit I used to buy canned soup and kitty litter. Nothing like wheeling around a bag of Fresh Step in your 4.5″ heels and fancy designer handbag ugh belt bag ahhhhgggggg NEON FANNY PACK.
Although I might just note that it is easier to lug around kitty litter if you’re hands-free on the purse front.

The good news is that I managed to get acceptable photos of the outfit, even if it was hard to keep my eyes open. Not my most elegant day, but hey, you can’t win them all.
I hope your week has started off well! Just a reminder: I’m posting summaries from the major New York Fashion Week shows right now on my Instagram Stories (you don’t have to have an account to see them). Don’t worry if you miss them – I’ve created a highlight on the feed called “NYFW FW20” where you can catch them any time!
love,
Stig
