OOTN: When You’re Short Enough to Wear a Top as a Mini Dress

Summer night out outfit in Prabal Gurung!

Clearly there are a lot of advantages to height. If you’re taller, you are more likely to make more money and to be perceived as smarter, more attractive, and healthier, according to this BBC article. Seriously.

I think that’s why us short folks are often so scrappy. There’s a lot of grit required to compensate for our lack of altitude.

But I will say this about being short: At least we can wear a top as a mini dress. Take that, Kendall Jenner!

We’re all about the small victories here at StigMendes.com. Or “vertically challenged” victories, as it were.

Enter this Prabal Gurung top. I tried it on, thinking it was a dress – until I read the tag and realized it wasn’t. Whoops. But who cares? It fits perfectly as a mini dress. And on me, it would look bonkers as a top. So I rolled with it.

I wore it out to a Brazilian dance night in Berkeley last weekend. Truthfully, it’s actually a “cape top,” with wing-like sleeves, but I tied them back behind my neck to get them out of my way. I kind of dig it.

This Dannijo necklace deserved a repeat performance (it also appeared in Friday’s post!). So fun and versatile.

How was your weekend?

love,

Stig
